About Alexander D.
Get to know Alexander D.
My name is Alex! I've been a musician for almost 17 years. I started becoming passionate about music at a very young age when I started singing in music classes. I soon landed on Trumpet as my main instrument in school after a few trials and errors on other instruments. Throughout school I was equally passionate about singing and trumpet. Starring in school musicals and playing in wind ensemble were some of my favorite things to do. When college rolled around, I decided to focus entirely on trumpet (although I do still sing as much as possible). I went to The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam where I majored in Music Education. There, I was lucky enough to participate in masterclasses with trumpet greats Matthew Mucky, Barbara Butler, and Jose Sibaja. I was also lucky enough to perform under the baton of Frank Ticheli as a member of The Crane Wind Ensemble. I have a great working knowledge of repertoir for many different instruments and ensembles and have a large library of print music myself. These days I perform with the pit orchestra of The Woodstock Playhouse for their summer stock theater program each year. Shows I've performed include All Shook Up, The Music Man, and Hair. I also write music on my own and with friends, exploring many varied genres of music and home studio recording techniques. Feel free to come on down and see me! I'd love to help!
