Get to know Amanda L
Hi! My name is Amanda Lewis and I've been playing the Cello since the 3rd grade, and haven't stopped since! I began my lesson studies at this very Music & Arts and could not be more excited to be back. I was here for many years throughout middle and high school before going to college to study Music, and also Arts management.
Music is a very important aspect of my life and I strongly believe everyone should have the opportunity to learn music! Both my parents played music throughout their lives and it had an immediate impact on me. Being exposed to music while growing up has helped me develop into the person and musician that I am today.
I studied arts management, art history, and music at Mary Baldwin College in Virginia. I was very fortunate to partake in all different types of music courses while at Mary Balwin, ranging from music theory to women in opera. I was also very forunate to study with an excellent Cello teacher who helped me progress and become an even better cellist. After tackling my biggest challenge of learning Bach's "Sonata Prelude" and graduating college, I decided to make my way back to where it all started, here at Music & Arts!
Music & Arts is a music shop like no other. The atmosphere here is bursting at the seams with talent and excitement for music. It is a place where anything becomes possible because of all of the talented teachers and wonderful students who take with them. Please come by to experience it for yourself!
