      Get to know Brandon Markson

Hello! I'm Brandon, a sales associate here at Music & Arts.

I grew up in Pittsford, so Music & Arts has been a familiar and welcoming environment for me from the start; from getting my first saxophone to needing an urgent box of new reeds. Saxophone has been my instrument of choice for 15 years - Alto, Tenor, & Soprano. I am also honing my skills for playing the Akai EWI, a digital wind synth (ie. electric saxophone).

My experience playing music has included various jazz and wind ensembles, though my main love is composing music. I currently hold two Bachelor's from Occidental College in music composition and chemistry, a Master's of Music in composition from New England Conservatory of Music, and I plan on continuing on for a Doctorate. I'm a huge music nerd, always happy to chat about anything: composers, specific songs/pieces of music, instruments, gnarly chord changes, etc.

From my widespread and eclectic interests in music, I'm happy to help with any questions you may have on your own musical endeavours.
