About Dave

I started playing music with piano lessons at a very young age, then switched to Clarinet in the fifth grade. When I got to high school (Worthington Kilbourne High School in Worthington, OH), I expanded my musical experience, playing clarinet in the Marching Band & Pep Band, bass clarinet in the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, baritone saxophone in the Jazz Band, and snare drum, marimba, and xylophone in the Percussion Ensemble. 

Then I attended Ohio University, where I performed with the Symphonic Band and University Band.  I was also a five-year member of the Ohio University Marching 110.  While with the 110, performances included the 2005 Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade, 5 NFL halftime performances (Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals x2, and New York Giants x2), and away game performances at Kentucky, Illinois, Virginia Tech x2, and Ohio State, along with several guest performances at high school band festivals.

Although I didn't graduate with a music degree, music was an essential part of my college experience, in addition to my experiences with various performing ensembles, I became a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the oldest national mens music fraternity. 

These days I play clarinet with the several groups, primarily the Shabbat Alive Band at Congregation Beth Tikvah and Ben Gelber's Friday Night Live Ensemble. I'm also learning guitar and drumset!
