Get to know David Weaver

Hello! Music has been an important aspect of my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I would regularly participate in local children's choirs and musicals. In 5th grade I started my life long journey of trumpet playing!

I graduated from Northern Illinois University in May of 2021. Originally, I had started my bachelor's degree in music education. After a few years, I came to fall in love with the performance aspect of music, which resulted in me graduating from NIU with a Trumpet Performance degree. During my time at NIU, I immersed myself in as many different ensemble settings as I could. I have a history with jazz, marching band, and classical in both a wind ensemble and orchestral setting. Aside from band, I also spent time singing baritone/tenor and arranging music for NIU's all-male acapella group.

While my primary instrument is trumpet, my time as a music education major greatly expanded my knowledge of band and orchestra instruments alike, so I would be happy to assist you with any questions you may have about any instrument!

I'm thrilled to be working for Music and Arts because every time I hand a student their new rental or new professional instrument, it reminds me of the immense joy that I had felt when I first started band! I hope you come to love music as much as I do!
