Get to know Jay Mecholsky
Jay (they/them) gained a love of music in childhood that never faded. Their childhood was filled with the sounds of all manner of stringed instruments as well as inspiration from films like "Star Wars". A big John Williams fan, at age 8 Jay began playing the alto saxophone. Since then they have learned and enjoyed playing the tenor saxophone, soprano saxophone and even the guitar. A lifelong learner they are beginning to play the clarinet too. they have enjoyed playing for jazz ensembles and orchestras. Jay currently plays with the Northern Virginia Community Orchestra.
