About Jordan Lawson
Get to know Jordan Lawson
My name is Jordan, and I work Part Time here at the Spartanburg Music & Arts. I have been singing since I was about 10 years old, where I performed in small town festivals and churches. I also picked up the guitar (among other instruments) when I went into middle school, after I was inspired by musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, and Ed Sheeran. Because of them, I also got inspired to write my own songs, and get better at lead guitar, which are two things I still enjoy doing to this day.
Because of my love for music, I went on to study at and graduate from the University of South Carolina Upstate with a B.A in Commercial Music with a focus in Music Production and Guitar Performance, specializing in Vocal Performance, Guitar Performance, Songwriting and Music Production. I have also been performing for over ten years across the eastern United States as a solo artist, “hired gun” drummer/bassist/guitarist, and with my cover group The High Tides. People say that I have even developed a “musical super power” in my relative pitch, through years of practice and training!
I have been honored to find my dream guitar (a 1966 American Pro Jazzmaster) at a store just like this one, and greatly enjoy speaking with prospective or current musicians that come in our store on a daily basis about how we can get them excited to pursue music. I look forward to helping you find your dream instrument!
