      Get to know Joshua Seymour

      Joshua Seymour is an upright and electric bassist, guitarist, and music educator based in southeastern Louisiana. He is currently earning his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he has studied with Michael Brothers, Dr. Vasil Cvetkov, and Dr. John Madere. He has also worked privately with Dr. Molly Redfield, Ed Wise, and Berklee College of Music graduate Dr. John Bishop.

      Joshua’s experience spans jazz, classical, and popular music, with performance credits including Snug Harbor with Erik Jekabson and an appearance with zydeco performer Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. He also has professional studio experience and brings a flexible, real-world understanding of musical performance to his teaching.

      As an instructor, Joshua creates a supportive, student-first environment where curiosity and creativity are encouraged. He specializes in jazz improvisation, theory, and beginner to intermediate guitar and bass instruction. His lessons focus on both musical growth and building meaningful teacher-student connections, welcoming students of all ages and skill levels.
