About Max Arnold
Get to know Max Arnold
Hi everyone! My name is Max and I'm the store manager here! I'm a multi-instrumentalist who has experience playing music from a wide range of musical genres.
My primary instrument is saxophone but I have experience playing electric bass and ukulele in a variety of different styles of music such as jazz, pop, and rock. I play soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones in both jazz and classical styles. While I was in middle and high school, I not only played saxophone and bass clarinet in concert bands, marching band, symphony orchestra, and jazz ensembles at school but I also played electric bass in pit orchestras for musicals and show choir combos at school as well as multiple rock bands outside of school with my friends. I even played a featured alto saxophone solo with the Mount Prospect Community Band during my senior year of high school. I have a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a minor in Jazz Studies from Illinois Wesleyan University. During my time at IWU, I have played saxophone in the wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, jazz combo, Titan Band, and as a sideman for Unlicensed Syncopation (the vocal jazz ensemble). I studied classical saxophone with William West and jazz saxophone with Glenn Wilson. I have also served as an instructor for high school marching bands in the Chicagoland area as well.
Immediately after graduating from IWU, I was a fifth and sixth grade orchestra director for one year. I eventually moved on from being an orchestra director because I developed a new passion to help musicians beyond the classroom. To supplement my knowledge of the industry, I'm currently pursuing graduate studies in technology at Elmhurst University.
I'm happy to help any musician meet their musical needs and I'm willing to use my passions for both music and technology to help others!
