Get to know Shaun Brown
Shaun Brown, a Long Island native, is a seasoned musician, producer, and engineer. Starting his music journey at the age of 9, playing clarinet in concert band, he later switched to tenor saxophone and continued playing in marching band throughout high school. Shaun started playing the guitar and bass guitar at the age of 12 and has been playing in churches ever since. He eventually started gigging in NYC and has performed at venues such as Rockefeller Center, Soho House, and DUMBO House. He has also done live sound and roadie work for local jam sessions, jazz singer Melanie Charles, and the DJ Companies DJUSA and Pulse Entertainment. At the same time, he earned his certificate in Sound Recording Technology at Nassau Community College. After moving to Philadelphia with his wife, he continued performing in the Philly music scene and has since played venues such as Time, World Cafe Live, Dahlak Paradise, 2nd Street Music, The Fire, Sweeny’s, and The Fringe Bar with local bands including The Levites, Branch Station, and The Funkitorium. He has also recorded with gospel artist Titus Showers on his single, “Feed Me” featuring Fred Hammond. Shaun is a session musician and an engineer-in-training at Repercussion Studios in Fishtown. He is also involved in church music ministry, playing bass at Covenant Fellowship Christian Church in Crum Lynne, PA and at St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Philadelphia, where he is also on the sound team.
