About Aleksandre Roderick-Lorenz

Venezuelan violist Aleksandre Roderick-Lorenz hails from Caracas where his musical foundation began under the auspices of the famed "El Sistema" organization. A versatile musician, Roderick performs a wide range of musical genres such as classical, Latin, mariachi, pop and contemporary music. Aleksandre is a member of the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO) and is principal violist of the Lyrica Boston Chamber Orchestra.

As a chamber musician, he has collaborated with Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, Natalie Cole, Franco de Vita and Il Volo. He has performed as a soloist with artists including Prince Royce and Leslie Cartaya. Solo appearances have been featured with New World School of the Arts, Miami Dade College Film Scoring Orchestra, the Lyrica Boston Chamber Orchestra and with MDC’s Wind Symphony Ensemble. Roderick's eclectic career has encompassed performances at the Latin Grammy, Billboard Music Awards, Premios Juventud, Lo Nuestro Awards and countless televised appearances for Telemundo and Univision. Other prominent artist collaborations include Plácido Domingo, Ruben Studdard, Celtic Woman, Johnny Mathis, Paloma San Basilio, Oscar D'Leon, Juanes and the Electric Light Orchestra.

A committed teacher, Aleksandre has served on the faculties of Miami's ViolaFest of New World School of the Arts and as teaching assistant to Professor Laura Bossert at the Setnor School of Music in Syracuse University. 

His main teachers include Richard Fleischman, Michael Klotz and Laura Bossert, he performs on a viola made for him by Carlo Gazanini.
