At 10 years old, Alexis Kaufman began playing the flute and soon began performing. One of her early achievements was playing with the San Diego Symphony during a performance of “The Pied Piper Fantasy,” by John Corigliano. An avid learner of music theory, she progressed through all ten levels of the Certificate of Merit program and was invited to perform solo at the Music Teachers Association Convention in Oakland. She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music from California State University Fullerton under Jean Ferrandis. During her tenure, she has performed in Master Classes with Leone Buyse, Marianne Gedigian, Carol Wincenc, Nicolas Duchamp, and Christina Jennings. Ms. Kaufman sat principal flute during her five years of school. Alexis has performed around the country and internationally, most notably in Europe on a tour of The United Kingdom and France, and in China on a tour of Beijing and Shanghai.
