About Amber

Amber Love is Substitute Bass Trombonist with Symphoria, and holder of M.M. in Performance from the Eastman School of Music, previously receiving her B.A.Ed. from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, IL, where she graduated magna cum laude. Amber is an active freelancer and private instructor in the Rochester and Chicagoland area. She is in her third year of collegiate teaching, recently finishing a position as Trombone Methods Instructor at the Eastman School of music.

Amber has a diverse background in music education, teaching at the collegiate level, in public schools, private schools, non-profit organizations, camps, and through private instruction. She has held clinician, instructor, judge, internship, and assistant positions at the Eastman School of Music, VanderCook College of Music, Merit School of Music, Providence St. Mel, Highland High School, Highland Middle School, Nathan Hale Middle School, Kesling Middle School, Humphrey Middle School, and Escuela Juvenil de Musica in Panama.

While at Vandercook, Amber studied and became proficient with twenty-four instruments at performance level, and performed with secondary instruments in ensembles. She is comfortable and qualified to teach winds, brass, percussion, strings and voice.

During the course of her career, Amber has had the opportunity to commission and premiere solo and chamber works by composers Jorge Bennett and Jennifer Mitchell. She has soloed and played bass trombone with Lixo Brass, Musica Nova, Faculty Brass Ensemble and Trombone Choir of Panama, Greater Rochester Women’s Philharmonic, MostArts Festival Orchestra,Queendom Musical Soundtrack, Chicago Outskirts, Classical Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra, and she is on the sub-list for Symphoria.

In her leisure, she is an automotive mechanic, instrument repair technician, and enjoys spending time outdoors.
