About ANDRE

Andre Acevedo comes from an army family.  Having grown up military, he is no stranger to traveling.  This has led him to travel the world on board Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as well as live across the United States to attend the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, the University of Memphis in Memphis, and the University of Illinois in Champaign.  From these institutions, he has earned the BM, MM and DMA degrees.  The DMA will be conferred onto Mr. Acevedo in the coming months.

While attending these universities, Mr. Acevedo took part in teaching private lessons to students of all ages.  In his studio, he teaches all single reed woodwinds the fundamentals of performance as well as reading music in the jazz and classical performance styles.  He has given clinics at local high schools and has even rehearses with marching bands.  Mr. Acevedo attended Charles W. Flanagan High School that is known for its championship marching band and color guard program, as well as winning the Grammy in the Schools award while he was a student.

Andre performs in various styles of saxophone, clarinet, and flute performance and has experience in classical and jazz music.  He have performed with artists such as Slide Hampton, Antonio Hart, Jim Snidero, Eric Marienthal, Dr. Jack Cooper, Chip McNeill, Dr. Bill Prince, and Tito Carrillo and in notable venues in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Illinois, Texas, Victoria British Columbia, and Kaiserslautern, Germany.  Some noteworthy ensemble performances include the Primetime Jazz Orchestra, Memphis Jazz Orchestra, Missouri Jazz Orchestra, Jeremy Davis and the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra, La Orquestra Caribbean Sound, the Climax of Truth and with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.

Andre Acevedo hopes to make San Antonio, Texas his permanent home and welcomes you to his studio.
