About Andrew Sherwood
Clarinetist/saxophonist Andrew Sherwood retired from the Coast Guard Band in 2009 after 30 years of military service. He performed in the concert band, Dixieland jazz band, saxophone quartet, swing band, and big band. He has performed with his own jazz quartet at many venues, including the Baby Grand Jazz Series and the Side Door Jazz Club. He has studied with renowned jazz clarinetist Eddie Daniels and saxophonist Walt Weiskopf. Pete Fountain, his main influence on Dixieland clarinet, invited him to perform several times in New Orleans. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the Ohio State University and a Master of Music from the University of Connecticut.
