While in college, she studied 4 years with opera performer Julia Lasnsford. Her childhood home was filled with the sound of music. Her mother and aunt served as pianist and organist for over 50 years in the church she attended. Some of Mrs. Gannon’s musical accomplishments include singing on the Atlantic City Auditorium stage as Miss Missouri 1984. This title provided opportunities to travel the state performing at a variety of venues. One highlight was vocal duets with former Missouri Governor and United States General John Ashcroft and opening for the late Tammy Wynette concert.
Her family contracted “Branson on the Road” shows with stars such as Mickey Gilley, B.J. Thomas, Shoji Tabuchi, Mel Tillis, Box Car Willie, The Gatlin Brothers, Roy Clark, and Little Jimmy Dickins. The entertainers performed at the Gannon Family Holiday Inn and the sun dome in Arizona.
Throughout her 30 plus years of teaching experience, Mrs. Gannon has touched many lives with her positive, heartfelt approach to teaching music. Teaching music gives a person a gift for a lifetime. Something to share with the world! She has vocal students involved in the St. Louis Children’s Choir, The Muny Opera, and as a recording artist with BAustin Entertainment. She has conducted many children’s choirs at various public schools and churches. She continues to share her passion of teaching music, the universal language.
