About Tony Venturini
Started playing electric bass at age 12 shortly before starting trumpet in beginning band in middle school. He played bass in the middle school jazz band and in church. He played tuba in high school marching band and bass in jazz band. His first professional gig was with the Miles Davis tribute band Miles Ahead at age 17. He attended University of Central Florida where he was in the symphony orchestra, jazz band and jazz combo. He also studied composition with Dr. Stella Sung. He graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in music. By the time he graduated he was already a working bassist in the Orlando area. He has performed all styles, from country to Latin, orchestral and rock, as well as in the pit for national tours of Broadway productions. He relocated to North Carolina in 2018 and looks forward to making more music here.
