About Bill Mocarsky
Bill is part of a multi-generational musical family. Classical piano was part of his upbringing. As an adult, he gravitated to performing and creating more contemporary styles of music.
Over the last 25 years, Bill has performed at many clubs, concert venues and colleges in the Hartford region as well as other cities in the U.S. and Canada. He has also worked as a consultant involving the technology that is associated with keyboards. Over the same time frame, he has worked with hundreds of students.
Bill currently performs and records with Hartford's "People of Goodwill", a band of mostly original music which has shared the stage with notable artists such as Sheila E. and the late Ray Charles. He also collaborates with singers and other musicians.
At Music & Arts, Bill teaches Piano and Music Theory. Students range from beginner (young or old) to advanced. Sessions offer the use of computer ear training and music notation programs. He is continually creating arrangements of well-known songs at various levels of complexity, which are available to the students; if a student has a favorite song ”on the radio” or an original idea, he will develop a custom arrangement. Students also have the option to record selected songs as they master them; these songs would then be compiled onto a CD that could be shared with friends and family.
