About Brandon

Brandon Ritchie is a freelance trumpet performer and educator. He has performed both locally and internationally with many different types of ensembles, recently including the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, the Greensville Symphony, as well as freelance work for many small music groups, including Little Anthony and the Imperials and brass quintets. Brandon is comfortable with many styles of music, ranging from classical to commercial, including jazz, rock, pop, and everything else in between.
Brandon has both a Bachelor’s in Trumpet Performance from Iowa State University, where he studied with the lead trumpet player Jim Bovinette, as well as a Master’s Degree from Youngstown State University, where he studied with the brilliant classical musician Chris Krummel. During his time at Youngstown State, he spent time as both the Bands Graduate Assistant, where he worked with Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, and Concert Band, as well as the Jazz Graduate Assistant, where he helped with producing the concerts, and played in the ensembles. He has also been a clinician for the YSU Wind and Percussion Invitational
