About Brent H.
Ever since he was young, he has been fascinated by the drum set and began playing percussion in 6th grade. He has played for 14 years and has experience in rock, punk, gospel and jazz drumming. He recently had the opportunity to play percussion with recording artist Carlos Whittaker at the historic Tally Ho Theater. He also got to play with his friend Josh Tigges for his EP release there. He also plays acoustic and bass guitar.
He has 6 years teaching experience, including running an internship for college students, and more recently substitute teaching for LCPS. He loves combining his passion for teaching with his experience in music to help students make progress towards their goals.
Drumming is a blend of physical and mental training, and lessons are designed to give students the cognitive as well as technical breakthroughs that allow them to progress in their drum skills! Students will build a strong foundation with rudiments and metronome training while building confidence on the drum kit. He also encourages students to play in as many musical situations as possible. At Music and Arts, students have oppurtunities through open mic nights, ensembles, and getting together students of the same skill level to play together!
