About Brian Bard
Hello Everyone! My name is Brian Bard and I joined Music & Arts as a guitar teacher earlier this year (2019). I've been playing the guitar for 15 years, performing for 10 years and teaching for 6 years. In 2012, I graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Music degree in applied guitar studies (classical guitar). I teach on Saturday's at the Middletown M&A location.
I aim to provide students with a positive, inspiring, and encouraging experience as I accompany them on their journey to achieve their goals in music, specifically in learning the guitar. Lessons will emphasize learning the foundational elements of guitar playing that will help ensure a student's progress, and tying those elements in with the student's own interests and curiosities. Depending on a student's needs and interests, subject material can include finger style technique, picking techniques, learning to read notation, learning songs, playing duets with their teacher, improvisation/soloing, music theory and a variety of styles ranging from classical to modern rock/pop. Prospective students of both the acoustic and electric guitar are welcome, as well as students of all ages and skill levels.
