Brigid, oboist, is a performer and teacher in the Hampton Roads area. She is currently pursuing her Master's in Teaching at Christopher Newport University.
About Brigid Donahue, Double Reed Instructor
Brigid Donahue is originally from Lexington, Virginia and has been playing the oboe since the age of 9. Brigid graduated from Christopher Newport University with degrees in Music Education and Oboe Performance, and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in teaching at CNU. During her time at CNU, Brigid served as principal oboist in the Christopher Newport Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. A three time concerto competition finalist, Brigid has performed as a soloist with the CNU Orchestra and has also performed the Mozart Oboe Concerto with the York River Symphony Orchestra as a finalist in their Young Artist Competition. Performing in multiple international music festivals, Brigid played in the Amadeus Orchestra based in Crewkerne, England, and was principal English Horn for the 2018 World Youth Wind Orchestra Project in Schaldming, Austria. Brigid currently teaches and freelances in the Hampton Roads area.
