About Me

Carlos is an accomplished musician with over 40 years of professional playing and 30 years of teaching experience. All styles and levels taught with a structured and detailed method of instruction with proven results. Carlos teaches both private lessons and group instruction. He has major recording and live band experience as well as successful band producing, recording, writing, and arranging with some of the industry's top talent. 

 

In 2002, Carlos De La Paz was hired by John Page for Fender's instruction program as an instructor. He created adult classes and wrote the curriculm for 3 class types: Reading Music Class, Improvisation Class, and Band Jam Class. He played many instruments in the guitar based classes and provided musicians for clinics. He also brought in a band to compete in Battle of the Bands where the singer was daughter of original bass player John Avila of Oingo Boingo.

 

His live stage performances and touring includes: Hughes Corporation, The Heaters, Abraxes, El Chicano, Johnny Vatos Boingo Dance Party, CID, Mercy and the Merkettes, and many other bands. He has done studio and recording with: The Heaters, Tonio K, Mustafa, CID, Ricardo Estrada, Lon & Derrick, Mandrill and many more. He has also performed for TV/Film scores and soundtracks including: Mi Casa Su Casa, Real Women Have Curves, Wrong Turn Two, and Eureka.
