About Carlos

My teaching philosophy: I implement learning the basics upon string-instrument (i.e. violin, viola, cello) technique, musical skills, performance practice via engaging pieces (from several books depending one's current level) using a variety of games and songs, listening, and musician ensemble activities. Furthermore, I dive into the knowledge of producing a beautiful tone on your instrument, breath control, teamwork collaboration, musicianship skills, musical note reading, and stage presence. I require no prior experience and I welcome all age groups.

I encourage long term consistent study to continue developing one’s musical skills to reach one’s personal musical goals. I have 10 years of experience in stringed instruments. I generally use “All For Strings” as a teaching method and depending on your skill level, I make recommendations based on your skill set (e.g. Dotzauser Method and Kummer Method). I have taught at Claremont Community School Of Music as an Orchestra String Coach and in Latin Pomona Youth Orchestra as First-Chair Cellist.
