About Caroline

A native of Dallas, Texas, Caroline Nielson completed her Master’s degree in Voice Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music. Prior to her graduate studies, she received an undergraduate degree at Belmont University, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance and a minor in German. 

Caroline’s theatrical roles include Orlofsky - cover (Finger Lakes Opera), Grace Farrell – Annie (RAPA), Maurya – Riders to the Sea, Dorothée – Cendrillon, Abbess – Suor Angelica, Madre superiora – Mese Mariano (Eastman), Nancy – Albert Herring, Mercédès – Carmen, Mrs. McLean– Susannah (Opera in the Ozarks), Dido – Dido and Aeneas, Cherubino – Le nozze di Figaro, Mother Marie – Dialogues of the Carmelites (Belmont), Dorabella – Così fan tutte (Portland Summer Opera Workshop) and ensemble in Pirates of Penzance (Nashville Opera) and Carmen (Syracuse Opera). Furthermore, Caroline is an avid performer of chamber and choral music, singing in the Albany-area Auriel Camerata and performing in numerous cantatas, recitals and new compositions.

Since completing her Master’s degree, Caroline has found a new passion in teaching; she is on the voice faculties of Finger Lakes Community College, Roberts Wesleyan Community Music School, and is a new instructor at Music and Arts.
