About Catherine Burge
Catherine Burge holds the Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in Piano and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado.
She serves as adjunct professor of music for St Louis College-Forest Park and Greenville University, as well as maintains a music performance and teaching studio in Greenville, IL and for Music and Arts in Fairview Heights, IL. Catherine is also organist and pianist for St. John's United Church of Christ in Mascoutah, IL. Catherine auditioned and obtained an assignment as a vocalist in the alto section of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Chorus under Choral Director Amy Kaiser.
She plays collaborative piano for Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorale, also occasionally at Greenville University where she serves as adjunct professor of clarinet/piano.
In 2016-17 Dr. Burge taught music history, theory, piano and improvisation to music majors at Briercrest College in Saskatchewan, CA, and directed the community orchestra rehearsals.
She has taught class piano, keyboards, accompanying and served as performer and accompanist for the faculty, band, orchestra and student ensembles at University of Colorado and at Southwest Florida State. Several of her college piano students perform at the Yamaha Young Artist Institute in New York City. Dr. Burge serves as adjudicator for area music associations, and has performed as vocalist with Greenville University Messiah concert choir and with the St Louis Bach Society. She continues to perform with the St Louis Wind Symphony and with Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra on clarinet and piano /keyboards. Past students have received scholarships to Central Florida University, University of Colorado and Coe Bible College and professional appointments in the music industry.
