I received my Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance with a concentration in Piano Pedagogy with Ms. Mary Cobb at State University of New York at Fredonia. I attended the State University of New York at Purchase for my Master of Music in Piano Performance with Professor Paul Ostrovsky.
In terms of performance opportunities, my most recent performance was at Northeast Petroleum University in China summer 2017. In addition, I also participated in several piano masterclasses at SUNY Fredonia. These were led by Marjean Olson in Fall 2013 and Logan Skelton in Spring 2014. I was also involved with String Chamber Ensemble, in which I performed classical works with various instruments. In addition, I was a piano accompanist for instrumentalists and vocalists from 2010 to 2014.
I strongly believe it's vital to develop a friendly relationship with each and every student. Every student will be unique in his or her own way and will be taught differently. The role of a teacher is extremely important as they can make the student feel comfortable in the environment they're in. When I teach, I like to have the student have fun but also let them know that they are responsible for practicing every week for a certain amount of time. This enforces the child to have a good habit, which will easily help them to improve faster.
