About Catherine Pelletier

Catherine Pelletier has loved singing since a young age and has always been inspired by the power and beauty of music. Since she was crippling shy, she did not begin singing in front of others until the ripe age of twenty-one, when she dived head-first into her life long dream of being a singer. She has not stopped since.

Catherine is a naive of Hampton Roads, Virginia. She moved to Richmond in 2013 as a transfer student to Virginia Commonwealth University's music department, where she is a vocal performance major. Catherine is primarily a classical singer, but teaches a variety of musical genres.
Catherine works as a voice, piano, and ensemble instructor at School of Rock in both Midlothian and Short Pump.
Catherine is not only a teacher, but a performer as well. She has performed in many concerts, recitals, opera scenes, operettas, musicals, and straight plays. Favorite past roles include: Maria from Rodgers & Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music," Princess Ida from Gilbert & Sullivan's "Princess Ida," and Nick Bottom from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
Catherine also sings as a soloist and substitute soprano section leader at Bon Air Prebyterian Church in Bon Air, Richmond, and often performs as a soloist in the Second Sunday South of James concert series.
Catherine has studied with voice teachers Dr. Kenneth Wood (Tenor), Anne O' Byrne (Soprano), Michelle Harman-Gulick (Soprano), and Ellen Fisher Petko (Soprano), vocal coach Melanie Kohn Day, and acting teacher Sandra Calderon-Dougherty.
Catherine is an avid lover of the color green and lives in Richmond with her fiance, Alan, their son, Landon, and the family bunny, Ollie.
