About Chelsea Kaye Lanphear
Chelsea Kaye Lanphear is a native of Hyde Park, Vermont and received Bachelor’s degrees in Music Education and Flute Performance at the Ithaca College School of Music. After graduating in May 2016, she moved to Alexandria, VA to begin teaching students of all ages and ability levels. Chelsea Kaye has passed verbal, written, and playing proficiencies on all woodwind and brass instruments, including flute, piccolo, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, and tuba. She has completed many credit hours in general and music education classes, which has shaped her flexible teaching methods.
Chelsea Kaye has four years of private teaching experiences, comprised of her private studio in Vermont and Ithaca, NY, as well as her student teaching experiences at Boynton Middle School in Ithaca. She has experience teaching students as young as 6 years old up through adult age students. She is passionate about teaching and works with each individual student to set clear, meaningful, and attainable goals. As a teacher, Chelsea Kaye works to create a safe and fun space to learn through experimentation, while also teaching responsibility and self-discipline.
