About Chiao Ti

Chiao-Ti Judy, Liu was born in Taipei, Taiwan. Chiao-Ti began playing piano at the age of five and clarinet at the age of ten. She graduated from the Shih Chien University Department of Music in Taiwan with her bachelor's degree in piano and a minor in clarinet. Judy came to George Mason University in August 2015 to earn her degree in Piano Pedagogy. She was a piano student of Dr. Linda Apple Monson and piano pedagogy student of Dr. Joanne Haroutounian. Judy graduated from George Mason University in Summer 2017 with her Master's in Piano Pedagogy. At that time, she was selected for solo performance in Mason's School of Music Honors Recital and George Mason's All Steinway School Program in 2016.

Learning music allows Chiao-Ti to have a deeper understanding of the beauty and miraculous significance of music. Everyone has a different goal in learning music. Some students want to be a professional musician; some want to learn other life skills as well and just like music with a casual interest. Chiao-Ti believes no matter what the goal, learning an instrument can play a huge role in an individual's life. In addition to musical instruments, any sound--including naturally occurring ones, and even no sound at all--is still music. Music is the greatest "best friend forever"!

Chiao-Ti has been an active music instructor since 2015. In addition to teaching, she is also an active accompanist for both instrumental musicians and vocalists.
