Areas of Instruction
Teaching is what I love to do! I have been playing violin for 25 years, and I began teaching private violin lessons in the St. Louis area in 2010. I have a wide variety of playing and teaching experience… I played violin in a band which covered pop and rock music for a few years, and I play a wide variety of music on violin, even metal! I have performed with the Webster University Symphony Orchestra, the Saint Louis University Orchestra, and the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Symphony. I completed my Bachelors degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010, and then studied violin performance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I have played dozens of local weddings and private events as a soloist over the last eight years. I am continuing my education studying violin with Mr. Yuly Ilyashov, and I am working to complete my Suzuki certification. Education is a life-long process, and each day I strive to challenge myself and to help inspire others to do the same.
I have taught nearly 100 students now, with several who have studied with me for the last 6 years in my own private studio in Chesterfield. I love to help others learn how they learn best and to enjoy studying violin because it is such a beautiful instrument. Each lesson is catered to each individual student. I emphasize patience, self-understanding, self-discipline, kindness, perseverance, and self confidence in each of my lessons. We will also of course cover technique, repertoire, theory, and ear training. I work closely with students and parents to make practice and lesson progress fit into your busy lives. I would love to help you have fun reaching your musical goals!
