Chris has been operating in the Triad as an educator and freelance musician for over six years. Originally from Bradford Pennsylvania, His first teaching job was as an instructor and arranger for the percussion section at his former high school. From there, he attended the nationally recognized UNCG School of Music to study Percussion Performance. At UNCG, he was a member of the award winning Percussion Ensemble that toured the Southwest in 2015, culminating in a showcase performance at PASIC in San Antonio. He was also a member of the UNCG Wind Ensemble as it toured central Europe in 2016. Chris was placed first chair Percussion in both the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra before graduating in 2017. As an educator, he worked as the Front Ensemble technician at Northwest Guilford High School for three years (2015-2018), Percussion teacher at the Salvation Army Boy’s and Girls Club in 2016, and a freelance lesson instructor for nearly four years. Currently, he continues performing throughout the Triad; most recently appearing as the drummer/percussionist for Triad Stage’s productions of “Man of La Mancha”, “South Pacific”, and “Sweeney Todd”, as well as UNCSA’s production of “Next to Normal”. He is also currently finishing two degrees in Music Education as well as Arts Administration, both at UNCG.
