About Christopher
...has been teaching for Music and Arts since 1998. While he took three years of classical lessons as a child, he rededicated himself to the guitar as a teenager playing rock and blues, and studying jazz. During three years at Loyola University in New Orleans, he performed with the Loyola Jazz Band at the Monterrey Jazz Festival in Mexico, the New Orleans Jazz Festival, as well as regional concerts, and with small groups around New Orleans.
He graduated with a Jazz Performance degree from William Paterson College in New Jersey, then spent a year living and performing in New York city. Moving to Arlington in 1998, he started teaching and performing around Washington, Maryland and Virginia.
As a player and as a teacher, he is comfortable with styles including blues, jazz, rock, beginning classical, country, finger styles, and many genres. Rather than a one size fits all approach, he customizes his lessons to the needs of each individual student and their interests. Friendly and engaging, he remains flexible and willing to improvise with the intention of bringing a touch of creativity to every lesson.
