About Me

I started playing Violin at age 9, but I began my primary musical study with singing at age 3.  I wanted to have a musical profession from a very young age, so I think growing up in a musical household was a major influence.  I still focus on Violin and Vocal performance, but I also play Viola, Piano, Flute and Recorder.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from Ohio University, and I earned my Master’s in Vocal Pedagogy and Doctorate of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from The Ohio State University.  I have been fortunate to teach students privately ever since.

I love singing and playing Classical and Opera music, but I enjoy listening to most styles of music.  Outside of music I enjoy reading and sewing, but music takes up most of my time!

I teach primarily classical style in both Violin and Voice, but I strongly believe a foundation in proper technique can transfer to most any style.  I have been teaching for over 43 years, and I teach from the very beginning to a professional level and have students from the age of 8 to older adults.
