About Daniel

Daniel was born in Topeka and graduated from Washburn University in 2016 with a degree in Music Education with an instrumental emphasis. I have been playing cello for 15 years. While at Washburn I played in the String Orchestra, Washburn Symphony and Washburn Cello Ensemble. In 2015 I had the privilege of performing in a performance of Handel's Messiah at the Kaufman Center in KC.

I have taught private cello lessons for 7 years. My studio of students has been as large as 25 students. I teach all ages of students and will vary my teaching style and lessons to best fit each students individual goals. I have had elementary through highs schools students as well as adult learners. I have helped prepare my middle and high school students for regional and state contests where many received the highest rating possible. I have also helped prepare high school students for Regional and State Honors Orchestras. In 2015 and 2017 I was a clinician and directed the middle and elementary cello Ensembles at Washburn Universities "I Heart Cello Day".

I currently work for Olathe Public Schools and teach elementary strings at 6 elementary schools while also helping at 3 middle schools. When I am not teaching I enjoy being out doors, riding my bike, jogging, hiking, playing Frisbee, disc golfing, or doing water sports like kayaking or paddle boarding.
