About Pecos Singer
DC-based cellist Pecos Singer was the winner of the 2016 Baroque Concerto Competition at the San Francisco Conservatory, and has performed on baroque and modern instruments across the US, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Austria. Pecos has recorded for the Naxos label as a Fellow at the National Orchestral Institute, and collaborated on a recording project with composer Mason Bates for the world premier of Auditorium, with the San Francisco Symphony. A finalist in the Coeur d'Alene National Young Artists Competition, Pecos plays on a 1921 cello made by Giovanni Cutugno, generously on loan from the Carlsen Cello Foundation. Pecos holds degrees from the University of Oregon, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and currently studies with Dr. Eric Kutz at the University of Maryland in pursuit of a Doctor of Musical Arts degree.
