Hello! I am currently a graduate student at Truman State University and am about to receive my master's degree in music education. Since beginning my musical journey on the violin at age five, I have taken lessons on the string bass, piano, cello, viola, marimba, violin, and harp, and I have also taught myself several other instruments including flute, guitar, and drums. I have taken lessons in composition and have created works ranging from a short, acoustic pop album to a suite of dances for concert band. All-in-all, I love everything about music: learning new instruments, creating new works, performing pieces, and teaching others everything I know.

My teaching style is very student-oriented in that I am constantly checking for student understanding, passion about the material, and the student's own connection with the music and instrument. The best motivation a student can have is to truly love playing their instrument, and this is exactly what I hope to spark in all of my students. I am extremely interested in correct technique and how to play the instrument in a way that will avoid injury or incorrect usage of the instrument. I have my own set of warm-ups that I prefer my students utilize on a regular basis that will get them into the correct technique of playing much more smoothly with an instructor guiding them.

I am looking forward to working with you!
