About Me

Darien Guy is from O'fallon IL, where he attended O'fallon Township High School. While in school, he was a member of Gateway Indoor Percussion ( St. Louis MO). Darien was also a member of Colts Drum & Bugle Corps (2010). While he was in school studying music performance, Darien started writing and performing with the production company Beyond Limits, as a drummer and music arranger. Darien was performing and arranging many plays in the metro east area. In late 2010, Darien started to share his music and now has a fan base in East Asia. In 2011, he became the percussion instructor for Mater Dai Catholic High School in Bresse, IL. With hard work and diligence, he also become the Percussion Caption Head for Antelope High School, where he worked with the marching band, jazz band and percussion ensembles.

Darien has continued working around the country with various music organizations. He became apart of Sacramento Metropolitan Community Choir, who's apart of (GMWA) Gospel Music Workshop. With his talents reaching new heights, Darien has also excelled in the music business, becoming CEO of Symrna Cymbals USA, a Turkish Cymbal Distribution Company in Turkey, which was featured in Drum Magazine July issue 2017 Cymbal Gear Guide. In addition, Symrna Cymbals USA was nominated for a drum award from Drum Magazine in 2017 for product of the year, spreading his knowledge of the company through various clinics, drum festivals, trade shows and educational programs.

With Darien’s experience in marching percussion, it lead him to become a Dynasty Marching Percussion Artist. He released a signature marching percussion stick, the Darien Guy 670 Series (Cooper Groove Performance Drumsticks). This stick was designed to help beginners to advanced players, with a decrease in fatigue, while stimulating pressure points. They also give you a direct guide to traditional grip. Darien continues to push towards his goals in the music business, by taking leaps and bounds to connect with a community of drummers,  record labels and percussion educators.

As Darien continued to strive as musician, he became the Music Director/Road Manager for Christian hip-hop artist Canon, who’s signed to the Reflection Music Group out of Nashville, TN. Darien completed his first tour as a Bassist and Music Director in 2017 (Session Tour). Featured artist included on the tour were Canon, Deraj, Aaron Cole, Corey Paul, Bizzell, and many more. This tour hit over twelve different cities nationally and internationally, connecting with people, and striving to connect with people musically.

Not only is Darien a well rounded musician, but he is also a well defined music producer. In mid 2017, Darien became the music director for Drummers I Like Podcast. A podcast dedicated towards drummers and entrepreneurs in the Music Industry, highlighting percussion education, product previews, artist/business owners interviews, and more. As you can see, Darien is one who continues to excel in his career as musician, music director, road manager, music producer, and business owner relying on his faith, hard work and dedication. Darien is looking forward to the next chapter in his career.
