About David

David Fattu is a native Arizonan who was born in Page, grew up in Glendale, and currently resides in New River. As a young musician he was an active participant in the music programs of Peoria Unified School District including marching band (trumpet/drum major), jazz band (bass guitar), symphonic band (string bass/student conductor), and chamber choir. As he began his studies at Arizona State University in Instrumental Music Education, he became involved in different performing ensembles and organizations including the ASU Symphony Band, ASU Symphonic Orchestra, ASU Sun Devil Marching Band, the Music Educators' National Conference, and the American String Teachers' Association (VP of Student Chapter).

After student teaching with high school band at Centennial HS and elementary string orchestra at Shaw Butte ES, Mr. Fattu started his professional career as a 5th-8th grade band director in Peoria USD. Three years later, he founded the Peoria District String Orchestra to give students across the district the opportunity to play in an orchestral strings ensemble. Mr. Fattu worked in different staff development positions in Peoria USD before moving toward a career in higher education instructional design. Currently, Mr. Fattu is the Director of Academic Services & Technology with a private higher education consulting company, Synergis Education.

Throughout his professional career in education, Mr. Fattu has had the privilege to offer private music lessons in string bass, cello, violin, viola and bass guitar. This extra "gig" started after graduation from ASU in 1996 and continues to provide Mr. Fattu with a source of professional satisfaction and joy working with students of all ages and skill levels. While Mr. Fattu has seen many of his students go on to study music at the university level, it is a strong sense of love and appreciation for the art of music performance that is his ultimate goal for all students.
