Baroque, Rennaissance, Classical
I teach piano with popular graded courses such as by Michael Aaron, Alfred, and Bastien. The aim is to inspire a lifelong love of music and music-making, often joining the student in playing four-handed pieces. More advanced students are coached in literature from the Baroque, Romantic, and Modern periods. The students are encouraged to bring pieces they would like to learn, as well as the pieces recommended by me for steady progression through technical and musical mastery, with a broad selection from different music historic eras, and national styles.
I also offer lessons on harpsichord with emphasis on historically informed keyboard practices. These I have learned by training at conservatories in the US and the Netherlands. The aim is to approach composers' intentions for the sound and interpretation, suitable for their time period.
