About David Strassberg

Hello! My name is David and I have been teaching with Music & Arts since May 2002. Teaching violin and viola for students of all ages, has been an honor, both to work with such wonderful kids and their families! Even for my adult students, it is enlightening to develop and encourage their skills as a musician through their passion for music. My inspiration for the violin and music comes from my parents, grandparents, and devoted teachers. Growing up surrounded by art and music, as my parents were both sculptors and ceramists, the music of their generation made an indelible impression. Growing and encouraging the passion for music in the lives of others is what inspires me to teach.

In my lessons, technique is always a key feature; with a solid foundation, the student can enjoy the experience even more. With correct posture comes comfort with a good setup. Intonation, rhythm, and tone are the hallmarks of musicianship of which we all strive to achieve. I want all my students to enjoy the process, with positive reinforcement. I instill a passion for music but know that it truly comes from within.
