About Eddie

Eddie Carr has been teaching for 25 years, specializing in trumpet and piano education. Eddie also enjoys working with ensembles and helping students advance their improvisation skills. He works well with students of all skill levels, and is fluent in a multitude of musical genres.

Eddie received his BA in Music from Brigham Young University. Since then, Eddie has developed a passion for music education, performance, and composition. Eddie has always aspired to provide an outlet from the troubles of life through music. He pushes his students to progress, and see music to act as an escape from everyday life.

Along with teaching in the Music and Arts Lesson Studio, Eddie directs the Maryville University Pep Band. Furthermore, Eddie plays with his group, The Eddie Carr Five, in the St. Louis area. In the past, he has joined groups such as The Parkway Faculty and Friends Big Band, the Latin Solution Salsa Orchestra, and the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.

Eddie enjoys a variety of music, including pop, rock, classical, and jazz. He enjoys bringing a variety of styles into his lessons, and strives to focus on the students primary interests. Eddie likes to use Rubank, Arban, and H.L Clark trumpet methods. His instrument of choice is the Bach Stradivarius Model 37.
