Elana received her music degree from Rutgers University, where she was a recipient of the Marryott Music Scholarship. She has studied with some of the most renowned violinists of her time, including violinist Neil Weintrob. Summer festivals include Killington, NYU chamber music, Aria, International School for Musical Arts, and Interlochen. Upon graduation she became an active freelance violinist in the tri-state area. As a teacher Elana has over 16 years of experience, including running her own private violin and viola studio, instructor of violin and viola at a local private school, and teaching for various studios, summer music programs, and school music programs. Her students have ranged in age from 4-64 and been at all levels, from beginner to pre-professional. Her students have been concertmaster, principle violist, and section members of prestigious youth orchestras such as the New York Youth Symphony, Region I Orchestra, and Bergen Youth Orchestra. As a teacher she emphasizes a strong technical foundation and tone. Elana looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm for music and seeing the musical progress of her students at the Music and Arts Center.
