About Elisabeth

I teach violin and viola lessons at Music & Arts. I received my Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from MSU Denver and studied string pedagogy at CU Boulder.  My teaching style is influenced by Mimi Zweig, Barbara Barber, Shinichi Suzuki, Paul Rolland, Ivan Galamian to name a few.

I’m connected to the local music teachers association where I enjoy their enriching programs and the community of peers that inspire me to continually grow in the art of music teaching. I’m having fun creating individual learning programs tailored to each student’s goals, interests and physiology. One of my favorite jobs is preparing middle and high school students for auditions at school or local youth orchestras - or give students who want to advance more quickly the tools and support to achieve that.

I love teaching people of all walks of life (age 5 – 105) and all levels and have 15 years of experience!

I’m also a performer and collaborator in the Colorado Front Range area. While classically trained I can be hired to perform rock, jazz and country styles using amplification. My favorite style is symphonic music because even after listening 100 times to the same work it never gets old.

I was born and raised in German speaking Switzerland and have lived in Colorado since 1997. I’m married to Peter and have two grown daughters. I love going on road trips and doing outdoor sports.
