    Emma Ostapeck graduated summa cum laude from Converse College, earning a degree in Music Education. She studied clarinet with Principal Clarinetist of the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Karen Hill, and Second Clarinetist of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, Gretchen Roper. Emma attended and participated in master classes with world-renowned clarinetists: Jon Manasse, Anthony McGill, and Julian Bliss.

    While in college, Emma performed with the Converse Wind Ensemble, Converse Symphony Orchestra, Spartanburg Community Band, Greenville Community Band, Fountain Inn Symphony Orchestra, and various chamber ensembles. In 2012, she participated in the Festwoche klassischer Musikin Oppenau, Germany. In the summer of 2013, Emma participated in the MasterWorks Festival for the Christian Performing Artist in Winona Lake, Indiana. During spring of 2014, Emma was the Principal Clarinetist in the SC Intercollegiate Honor Band at Coastal Carolina University.

    After graduating college, Emma began teaching band at the Leonard School of Music and maintained a private clarinet and saxophone studio. In May of 2015, she performed in the Piccolo Spoleto Festival. Currently, Emma teaches clarinet and saxophone lessons to students that attend schools in Charleston and Dorchester II counties, some of whom are participants in the 2016 All State and All Region bands. She is actively performing in the Charleston Wind Symphony and Southcoast Symphony Orchestra.

    Emma is truly invested in the success of her students and strives for them to become well-rounded, competent musicians as well as responsible young adults. She has experience in teaching students of all ages and ability levels and tries to best meet their needs as she sees fit.
