My name is Emma Johannemann. I provide private lessons at Music & Arts, to all ages learning to play the guitar for the first time. I am a recent graduate of Charleston Southern University with a B.A. in Music Therapy and a Minor in Psychology. My primary instrument is voice but through my studies I have also become proficient in piano and guitar. I offer lessons that center around individual goals and needs. From basic guitar theory to playing your favorite songs, I strive to engage my students in the active art of music making and introduce them to the positive impacts music can offer. Through individual lessons and various performance opportunities, students will gain confidence in themselves and their musical abilities. I provide lessons in an environment in which students can progress at their own pace and learn in a comfortable, stress free environment.
My performance experience consists of mostly vocal repertoire and includes guitar and hand bells as well. I have been a part of musical productions including the small role of Gracie Shinn in the production of “The Music Man” by Meredith Wilson in high school and the ensemble in the opera “Dido and Aeneas” by Henry Purcell in college. I have performed in many recitals in a variety of vocal styles and have performed the National Anthem at various events including the River Dogs minor league baseball games. I have performed in a hand bell choir in many different locations including New York City, and Washington DC. I have also performed with guitar at various church services.
