About Ethan Olinger

Hello! My name is Ethan Olinger and I have been playing the guitar for 14 years. I have been teaching guitar, bass and ukulele now for 7 years. I teach all levels of students from the absolute beginner to advanced guitarists looking to hone their skills. It gives me a great deal of satisfaction to see my students learn and grow in their abilities on the guitar. Because each student is unique, I take great care to craft our lessons around the students particular learning style. This way, rather than forcing all my students to drudge through a method book, I can find what sparks the interest of my students and get them excited about playing the guitar.

I am well versed and competent in a wide variety of genres including Rock, Blues, Funk, Metal and Classical but would consider myself a jazz guitarist above all else. I studied jazz guitar at Saddleback College where I was able to study under the brilliant musician and teacher Joey Sellers.  While going to school I was able to perform on stage with many legendary musicians such as Walter Smith III, John O'Gallagher, Chris Speed, And Shep Shepard. I am now a full time musician working professionally in the Seattle area.
