About Francesca Scott
Francesca Scott was born and raised in Greenville, SC. At age 8, she began studying violin with Joanna Mulfinger, but at the beginning of her junior year of high school, Francesca made the switch from violin to double bass. She immediately began studying under Braxton Ballew, and a year later she auditioned at North Greenville University where she is currently finishing her degree in Music Education with a primary in double bass. At NGU, Francesca studied double bass under Brian Gencarelli and Cris Lee Lance, and she also received supplementary private lessons in viola and cello to prepare her to teach all the orchestral instruments. Francesca has had the privilege to play double bass in the SCMEA Region Orchestra, Allstate Orchestra, and All State Concert Band during her high school years. In college, Francesca performed in NGU's String Orchestra, String Ensemble, Concert Band, and Marching Band, where she performed bass guitar. She has also played in Fountain Inn Symphony Orchestra, Rivertree Singers, a performance with Anderson University Concert Band, SCMEA Intercollegiate Honor Band in 2018, and multiple concerts with Converse College.
