Teaches Saxophone

It's all about the sound.  Fluency with scales and improvisation technique cannot make up for weak sound.  Produce a great sound and the rest will come.

About Gary

I toured for 8 years with the United States Air Force Band playing concerts and parades across the US and Europe.  During this time, I spent 3 years performing in Europe with the USAFE "Glenn Miller" band where we recorded albums at Waldorf Studios and played live with well-known musicians including Duke Ellington, Doc Severinson and Victor Borge. Our performances covered festivals in some 14 countries from the "Rose of Tralee" festival in Ireland to "Feria" in Spain to "Communist Musikfest" in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia.

I play all kinds of music from blues to jazz to rock to symphony, but have a special love for performing high-energy big band jazz in the "Buddy Rich style".  I currently play soprano & tenor sax on live paying gigs, but am equally comfortable playing with a small pit orchestra or regional symphony, having spent 14 years playing double-reeds (bassoon, oboe) in several symphonies around the country.
