About Gavino "GAVI" Cossu

Gavino Cossu aka "Gavi" was born and raised in Italy. He taught himself how to play the guitar at the age of twelve. Immediately upon picking up his first guitar he had been interested in and inspired by all the guitar heroes of the world like Malmsteen, Petrucci, Becker, Nuno Bettencourt, Kotzen etc. At twenty one years old he moved to France where he collaborated on several rock projects. Gavi holds a degree in Music as a Professional Guitarist from the Music Academy International in France (the best music school in Europe) and has been an active member of the Paris music community since 2009. He taught at four different music schools in Paris and collaborated on several musical projects.
Ultimately tired by the french rock scene, he decided to leave and travel to Spain, Thailand and Indonesia where he taught private guitar lessons, composed for movies and web series, and worked on different musical projects. As of 2016 he has been living in California where he plans on continuing his passion for rock music.

Gavi has more the 15 years of experience teaching private, one-on-one lessons and 25 years of experience as a guitar player. In addition to teaching private lessons, he was a faculty member at Allegro Musique, I.C.M and Melocad/Universal Music in Paris France from May 2009-Jan 2014 where he taught guitar electric and acoustic, as well as band classes.

Gavi teach students of all ages and abilities from complete beginner to intermediate and advanced players. He has an easy-going, relaxed personality and he strives to create a fun and welcoming environment in lessons, while simultaneously encouraging his students to work hard and take their musical goals seriously. His aim in every lesson is to balance music theory and technical exercises with fun, hands-on guitar playing and performance. He has a passion for teaching and love passing on the knowledge that was given to him through years of studying and performing.

He has been an active member of the Paris music community since 2009 (recently move in LA). His experience as a guitarist includes a variety of performance styles and settings.
